Growth Projections

Renewables (solar, wind, hydro, bioenergy, etc.) are rapidly increasing their share of global electricity generation. According to IEA projections, they are expected to supply more than one-third (~35%) of global electricity by 2025, overtaking coal in overall generation in that period.

Global renewable power capacity additions continue setting records: around 582–585 GW of new renewable capacity was installed in 2024, representing a robust ~15–19% annual growth. The IEA forecasts a total increase of ~4,600 GW of renewable capacity between 2025–2030, equivalent to the combined capacity of China, the EU, and Japan today.

In 2025, global battery storage deployments reached a record 108 GW, up approximately 40% year-on-year. As solar and wind capacity continue to expand, energy storage has become a strategic pillar of modern power systems, providing the flexibility needed to balance supply and demand and support grid reliability.

XTI and its partners plan to install 200 MW of photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Slovakia and Romania during 2026–2027. An additional 200 MW of PV capacity and 200 MW of energy storage systems (ESS) are planned for deployment in 2028–2029, further expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio in the region.

XTI is currently negotiating long-term partnerships for the construction and operation of PV power plants and environmental management systems with the governments of Sierra Leone, Namibia, and Sri Lanka.
